Do the things I say to myself make me feel “empowered” or “disenfranchised”? What is the underlying metaphor of my current overriding emotion? 3. Is what I am saying to myself actually valid, or true? Another way to look at this is to ask yourself, is the opposite to what I say also true? 4. Do I have a positive personal experience, or an example of someone in my life who embodies characteristics of a roadmap to a more positive narrative? 5. Do you have the perseverance to transform “states” into “traits”? NEXT EPISODE: The Power of Stories, Part 2 Change your thinking, change your life! Laugh hard, run fast, be kind. David R.
