After years of laying the foundation for professional hockey in Detroit; Jack Adams was ready to face his biggest challenge. The city was full of winners and if the Red Wings had any chance of establishing themselves they MUST be part of it. However, uncertainty surrounded his star studded roster as it headed into 1935-36. Having been beaten in the pre-season “Inter-City Series” by their own minor leaguers, the Detroit Olympics, how could they hope to challenge the best of the NHL?
